Adaptive Surfing

Adaptive surfing

For adaptive surfing at Lost Shore Surf Resort, we have partnered with Inclusive Surfing Scotland (charity number SC052597) to offer accessible surf sessions to children and adults with disabilities.

Inclusive Surfing Scotland delivers beginner sessions in the bay and can also support experienced para-surfers on the reef. If you are interest in trying adaptive surfing at Lost Shore Surf Resort, please contact Inclusive Surfing Scotland to arrange a lesson or session.

Lost Shore is committed to making our Wavegarden Cove accessible to all surfers and visitors. We are continually looking to improve our facilities to ensure the resort is accessible to all.

Further information on accessibility on-site can be found here.

Para-surfing

Para-surfers are surfers with disabilities who are confident surfing more challenging waves. The reef in our Cove is only suitable for para-surfers who can trim along the face of a green wave and who can link turns with control. For para-surfers who surf independently (without in-water support), please book via our booking page.

However, we know that some para-surfers require assistance from a support team to catch waves. There are two main groups of surfers who require support in the water:

  • prone assist surfers (who surf with a pusher and catcher/s)
  • surfers who are visually impaired (who surf with a spotter)

If you are an experienced surfer without a support team, please contact Inclusive Surfing Scotland to arrange a session on the reef.

If you are a para-surfer travelling with your own support team, please get in touch with the Lost Shore team for further information about surfing on the reef and how to book in your session.
