The kit keeps you warm in the water
Winter Surfing — TripAdvisor
“As a newbie to surfing, the resort is ideal. I have had two beginners lessons so far and I’m itching to get back out. The instructors are lovely, informative, and supportive. The kit keeps you warm in the water despite the harsh temperatures, definitely use a hood! What a difference it makes.”
Pod was really excellent. Cosy and easy to figure out.
Surf & Stay — TripAdvisor
“Booked a Pod for 2 nights and 4 surfs. Pod was really excellent. Cosy and easy to figure out. Complementary tea and espresso was great. Everything clean and tidy. As an experienced surfer, I was blown away by how good the wave quality here is.”
You are not sat around waiting in the water
Beginner Surf Lesson — TripAdvisor
“You can do as many waves as you can within the 1 hour which is great because you are not sat around waiting in the water. You just swim back to the start after each wave you catch. I did 13 in the hour. The instructors help you get on the waves so you don’t miss any!”
Winter Surfing FAQs
Can you surf in Scotland in winter?
Yes. Our waves are made in the Cove, so you can surf all winter. It’s cold, so wetsuits, boots, gloves and a hood are essential. We’ll provide them.
Can I surf at midnight?
Yes, if you book one of the limited places. The session is guided by our instructors, with torches and a lit shoreline. It’s for sober surfers only.
Do I need to have surfed before?
[TBC. Confirm ability level for the midnight session.]
Can I bring the kids?
Yes. We run waves every day while it’s light. The Lock-In and Winter Warrior both run midweek.
Can I book as a group?
Yes. Groups of 10 or more can book one side of the Cove. Email surfgroups@lostshore.com.
What’s the difference between the Lock-In and Surf & Stay?
The Lock-In is set dates with surf, meals and evening socials built in. Surf & Stay is surf and accommodation on dates you choose.
