This Kind of Together -
Couples Surf Retreat

Sometimes, life, chores and nuance all get in the way of surfing together. Yet, some of the greatest memories as a couple can be made surfing side-by-side. Lost Shore offers you endless waves in Europe’s largest wave pool, plus some cosy waterfront pods and wellness facilities, to help you reconnect with your partner. This is the perfect place for a couples’ surf retreat, just 10 minutes from Edinburgh’s airport and 25 minutes from the city centre.

Stay Together in
The Waterfront Pods

There are not many surf spots across the globe where you can wake up right in front of world-class waves. Lost Shore’s Waterfront Pods are exactly this, and they’re built for two. Each pod comes with a floating king-size bed, mood lighting you can adjust to suit the evening and an en-suite bathroom with underfloor heating.

If you’d prefer a bit more room to spread out, the Waterfront Lodges sleep up to six and are equally well-placed for the surf.

Progress Your Surfing Together

We mean it when we say; there are waves for every one at Lost shore. If you’re more experienced, you can surf out the back, while beginners can be in the Bays at the same time.

Book back-to-back sessions to make the most of your time, or mix lessons and open sessions across your stay as your confidence builds.

Wind Down Together in
Our Spa & Sauna

After a session on the water, the Spa Studio is on hand with a range of treatments designed to ease tired muscles and help you properly unwind, and, more importantly, debrief about the surf you just had.

Then there’s the Spear Sauna, which offers one of the most relaxing ways to watch the waves. If surfing isn’t really your thing, the spa and sauna are just as good a reason to visit. Cocktail list to match, it’s a natural end to a day well spent.

Dinner With a View

Round off your day at the Canteen, Lost Shore’s waterfront restaurant and bar. With a rotating selection of some of Scotland’s best kitchens serving seasonal dishes, and a cocktail list to match, it’s a natural end to a day well spent.

Couples Surf Retreat FAQs

Do we both need to have surfed before?

Not at all, Lost Shore’s wave pool produces over 20 different wave types, so complete beginners and more experienced surfers can both be in the water at the same time. Whether you’re taking your first lesson or working on your turns, the resort caters to all levels side by side.

The Waterfront Pods are purpose-built for two. They come with a floating super king-size bed, mood lighting, smart pod controls, an en-suite bathroom with underfloor heating and views straight over the wave pool, everything you need for a comfortable and memorable stay.

Absolutely, non-surfers are just as welcome at Lost Shore. You can book treatments at the Spa Studio, warm up in the Spear Sauna, grab a coffee at the waterfront Canteen or simply watch the waves from the café bar while your partner is in the water.

Lost Shore makes for a genuinely memorable couple’s escape, with cosy Waterfront Pod overlooking the surf, an evening in the Spear Sauna, dinner at the waterfront Canteen and spa treatments to round things off.

Lost Shore is around 25 minutes from Edinburgh city centre. The easiest option without a car is the Surf Bus, which runs direct from central Edinburgh to the resort every day. The resort is close to Edinburgh Airport and has on-site parking if you’re driving.
