Why Families Choose

Lost Shore has 20+ wave types from kid-friendly ripples to advanced reef breaks and barrels, all in one location.

No weather risk

Inland wave pool means the sessions are on, whether it’s rain or shine. No surf checks, no down days, no disappointment.

Everything on-site

Lodges, café, spa, SurfSkate, and no car needed between activities.

Expert kids' instruction

Dedicated coaches for ages 7+, with small group sizes; parents and kids can surf together or separately.

Year-round destination

Unlike Cornwall or Portugal, there’s no traditional surf season to book around. If you want to go surfing, you just book in.

Everything You Need for an Unforgettable Family Surf Break

Surf as a family at Lost Shore, book into a session and call each other into waves in a safe environment. Family surf lessons are available for mixed ages and abilities, with dedicated kids’ beginner sessions for ages 7+. Or, you can surf a normal adults’ session while your kids learn to surf as part of Lost Shore’s Kids Surf Camp – where boards and wetsuit hire is included.

Stay Onsite

Lost Shore has a whole range of accommodation options, from waterfront pods (sleeps 1-2 people, for those who want to be right near the action) and lodges (sleeps up to 6 people for families who would like to watch the waves) and the Hilltop Lodges (sleeps up to 8 people and 2 dogs, on the hill-side above the pool).

Surf and Stay packages are available for the family who want a full surf weekend, or a midweek trip to get away for a special few days of surfing, where you can wake up and walk to your session in seconds.

Eat Well

Lost Kitchen is the culinary heartbeat at Lost Shore, with food available from 8am plus a kid-friendly menu. Pop in to fuel up before a surf and it’s a place to hang-out after or unwind after a day surfing.

Beyond the Waves

There’s plenty to enjoy before or after your surf session too. Lost Shore features a SurfSkate Academy, offering land-based training for all ages and abilities. The Spear Sauna is also open, giving parents the perfect opportunity to relax while the kids are in surf camp.

For those looking to unwind even further, Lost Shore offers wellness treatments at the on-site Spa Studio, the ideal place to recharge and find your feel-good.

What’s There
to Do for Under 7s?

Not quite old enough for surf lessons yet? No worries, Lost Shore is a fantastic holiday for the little ones too, and the whole resort has a relaxed, family-first feel from the moment you arrive.

Splash at the Shore

Splash at the Shore is the place to start. This brand-new summer session is designed for families and first-timers aged 4 and upwards. There will be small, gentle waves in the bay, no surfers or surfboards in the water, but we actively encourage you to bring any fun pool inflatables, boogie boards, anything – everyone’s welcome.

It’s a 45-minute session that’s all about water confidence and having fun, with wetsuits and water shoes or wetsuit boots provided.

Sessions will run on selected dates throughout the summer.

Check out the next session details here.

Dry-Land Activities

Back on land, there’s plenty more to keep under-7s busy. Surf skate lessons and demo boards are available for little potential shredders, ready to give it a go, and kids are welcome to bring skateboards, bikes or balance bikes to cruise the beachfront. There’s also a large sandpit for digging and all sorts of creative chaos.

Around the Resort

Inside Lost Kitchen, you’ll find games, books and colouring-in available, and families are welcome to bring their own too. It’s a warm, relaxed space with a cruisey, family-friendly atmosphere.

Table tennis and cornhole add a bit of friendly competition, and if the little ones just want to watch the action, the pool viewing area is entertaining in its own right. Cheering on siblings or parents catching waves is half the fun.

And yes, there’s an ice cream van, too.
