1.    Steps we take to ensure accessibility

We are continually striving to enhance the accessibility and usability of the Lost Shore Surf Resort website for all users. Our efforts include the implementation of:

Easier-to-read colours and sufficient contrast levels

Use of Plain English to make the website text as simple as possible to understand

Larger font and zoom in up to 300% without the text spilling off the screen

Navigate most of the website using just a keyboard

2.    Compliance status

Lost Shore Surf Resort is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.

Our site has been built using code compliant with W3C standards for HTML and CSS, ensuring compatibility with current browsers. This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard, the non-compliances are listed below.

 

3.    Non-accessible content

We know some parts of this website are not fully accessible. The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.

Some videos on the site may have narration without transcripts available; some may have autogenerated closed captions providing by the video hosting platform

Some service use PDF files to provide their menu with no plain text content equivalent

The event booking service is a temporary solution for the period leading up to the event launch. An accessible version is currently being developed and will be available soon.

Please note that PDFs may not be fully accessible to users with disabilities, and we are working to improve accessibility for all documents. We are working to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that people with disabilities can access their services and information.

5.    What we’re doing to improve accessibility

The Lost Shore Surf Resort website will be regularly updated to improve functionality and accessibility where and when required. The current site is and always will be a work in progress. We are committed to continually improving the accessibility. We achieve this by:

Performing regular accessibility audits.

Incorporating feedback from users to improve our services.

Keeping up with the latest best practices and web standards.

While we are in the process of resolving any accessibility issues, or where we are unable to resolve, we will ensure reasonable adjustments are in place to make sure no user is disadvantaged. As changes are made, we will continue to review accessibility and retest the accessibility of this website.

 

6.    Preparation of this accessibility statement

This statement was prepared in July 2024.

The accessibility statement was prepared by testing a random sampling of pages which were representative of all available content types on the website. These pages were tested on a variety of internet browsers including Chrome, Safari and Firefox, and a variety of devices, including MacBook, Windows Android, and iPhone. Testing was done against the WCAG 2.1 success criteria.

This website was last tested on 01 July 2024 against the WCAG 2.1 AA standard. The test was carried out using automated testing tools such as the WAVE Web Accessibility Evaluation Tool and axeDevTools.
