European Wooden Surfboard Meet 2026
Following last year’s success, the European Wooden Surfboard Meet comes back to Lost Shore this October for another weekend of community, sustainability and good vibes!
The event will bring together wooden surfcraft makers and enthusiasts from all over Europe and beyond to meet, try boards and share knowledge.
We’ve also curated some special products for the occasion, for those wanting to live the full experience.
Who?
Everyone is welcome! If you are interested in sustainability, woodworking, arts and crafts or you are just curious about the event, pop down and have a nosey!
What?
A range of activities during the weekend, from wooden surfcraft only sessions, workshops, film screening, talks and exhibitions.
When?
8th – 11th October 2026. Lost Shore Surf Resort, Edinburgh, Scotland.Â

We’ve created some special packages for the event, with different surf bundles and shared accommodation options in our hilltop lodges. For shared accommodation options, just select the surf bundle you want and add your stay dates before the checkout.

Thursday - Welcome
During the Day
- Welcoming event attendees
- Open surf sessions all day
- Wooden surfboard exhibition in the Event Studio
6PM – 9PM: Exhibition Drop-off
- Do you have surfcraft you want to exhibit? Bring them to Lost Shore’s Event Studio as we will be setting up the exhibition!
Friday - Surf & Meet
3PM:Â Wooden Hour Session
- A wooden surfcraft only session
- Turns setting, ideal for any surfcraft, from shortboards to handplanes.
- There will be some wooden surfcraft available to demo.
6PM – 7:30PM: Maker’s Session
- Are you interested to meet other wooden surfcraft makers and enthusiasts? Join the session in our Event Studio to talk all things surfboard design, board building and sustainability.
7:30PM – 10PM
We’ll gather in the Events Studio for an informal group dinner.
Saturday - Get Crafty
11AM: Wooden Hour Session
- A wooden surfcraft only session
- Turns setting, ideal for any surfcraft, from shortboards to handplanes.
- There will be some wooden surfcraft available to demo.
11AM – 12:30PM: Flamenco Music Workshop
TuFlamenco comes back to Lost Shore with their flamenco experience, celebrating the connection between wood, rhythm and expression. Through a live performance and interactive workshop, audiences will discover how flamenco brings wood to life — in the dance floor, the cajón, the guitar, and the hands of those who keep the rhythm alive. A joyful, creative event for all ages and backgrounds. Free to attend, just drop in for some fun!

- Swap boards and try new designs!
8PM – 11PM:Â Film Screening & Talks
Surfing has been part of ancient cultures since immemorial times, always deeply rooted in the relationship between humans, the sea, and the material used to harness the waves – wood. Learn about sustainability in surfing and its history from the the experts; wooden surfboard shapers and surfers, who have looked back to move forward, developing more sustainable alternatives for enjoying surfing in a more responsible way.
Sunday: Open Day
10AM – 4PM: Local Makers Showroom
Meet local makers and creators and get to know their amazing creations and stories.
11AM – 1PM: Art on Wood Workshop
Create your own painting on a small surfboard shaped wooden canvas to take home. Ideal for art enthusiasts and families with the guidance of a local based artist! Bring your creative juices and we’ll provide the rest – limited units, first come first served.
11AM: Wooden Hour Session

Lost Kitchen is our all-day food hub set right beside the waves, where you can refuel and relax with a great view of the surf while enjoying fresh coffee, nourishing food and refreshing drinks flowing.
