Accessibility
Lost Shore Surf Resort is a world class facility, which has held inclusivity and accessibility as key guiding principles, since its inception. Surfing has traditionally been a sport which has had many barriers to participation, both physical and perceived. Lost Shore are committed to identify those barriers and removing them wherever possible.
- Parking – 16 blue badge parking spaces at the main entrance, 6 with EV charging. There are also coach/minibus spaces. There is a 250m path to the resort from here (a paved road with gentle gradient).
- Accommodation – 6 accessible Waterfront Lodges (Armadilla Kurvs).
- Pathways – wide, 250m, gentle gradient tarmac road leading down to the Surf Cove and Canteen. Mixed slopes and surfaces around the country park, with ongoing improvements.
- Buildings – single storey buildings with level thresholds, wheelchair accessibility, QR code ordering, gender neutral toilets, accessible and baby change facilities.
- Changing Area – accessible toilets and showers with slip-proof seat. Baby change facilities, family changing area and private cubicles.
- Waterfront Area – smooth tarmac beach front with minimal gradient, access ramps, inclusive and para surfing sessions in collaboration with Inclusive Surfing Scotland.
- Commitment to Accessibility – shared focus on removing physical and perceived barriers to surfing and an ongoing process to identify and improve accessibility areas.
