Our longboarding workshop is an introduction to traditional longboard surfing. We’ll start with a practical theory session covering what makes riding 9ft+ boards unique, focusing on the purpose and functionality of cross-stepping and noseriding. After breaking down the techniques, we’ll hit the water and put it all into practice.
Suitable for: This session is ideal for longboarders eager to build their foundation, as well as anyone comfortable on a shortboard, midlength, or foamy who wants to try longboarding.
Wave height: Waist high, on our Cruiser Plus wave setting (on the left)
Surfboard: Bring your own board, rent from our shop (limited availability), or use our 9ft foamies
Itinerary:
16:45: Meet in our High Performance room for a forty-five-minute classroom session on Longboarding theory.
17:30: collect equipment and change into wetsuits
17:45: reconvene at the poolside for practical technique practice
18:00: in water session
19:00: Conclude the workshop at the poolside
